Disambig This article is about the selectable Underlord units. For the game itself, see Dota Underlords.

Underlords are units that players may choose to play with in Dota Underlords. Each Underlord offers a unique gameplay style.

Mechanics

Each player chooses an Underlord before queuing a match. They begin round 1 with their chosen Underlord already on the field.

Underlords do not count towards the unit cap.

An Underlord's stats increase with the round.

Underlords cannot equip items.

Talents

Every 5 rounds, starting on round 10 and ending on round 35, each player chooses a Talent for their Underlord that adds to or modifies their Underlord's current abilities. On round 20, an ultimate is chosen instead.

Each applicable neutral round has a specific set of Talents that can be chosen. Some Talents must first be unlocked by finishing a certain number of matches with the related Underlord in sixth place or higher.

Hype

Underlords do not have Mana and instead have Hype.

Each Underlord passively generates Hype by a specific amount and can increase the Hype generated through certain abilities, Talents, and items.

Hype increases your Underlord's damage (up to +50% max Total Damage at full Hype) and how fast their cooldowns tick (up to 40% faster at full Hype).

If an Underlord kills a unit, they gain 10 Hype.

If an Underlord is stunned or hexed, they will lose 5 Hype per second.

When an enemy Underlord dies, the opposing Underlord will passively generate Hype by double the normal amount.

The maximum Hype allowed is 100.

Abilities

Underlords have one passive ability and three active abilities, one of which is an ultimate that is unavailable until chosen on Round 20.

At the start of each battle, all of an Underlord's abilities begin on cooldown. They will be automatically cast when ready and consume no mana or hype.

Ultimates can only be cast once.
